Hoorah! I've missed his take on the world. When you've got him back, can you ask him what he thinks of 5-year MOTs for teachers?

One of the most stressful moments of my life included a bus, a bell and a shed load of students. I was on my way to work, they were crammed in ike sardines along the aisle, I rang the bess, the driver didn't hear, I had to squirm to the front and then say several times before I was heard over the babble of I'm-so-intelligent-conversation, 'er, I wanted to get off there please!'

Eventually I emerged, red faced and disheveled but with head held high, into the cool air and strolled casually along the length of the bus to cross the road behind it with a row of messy haired, rugby shirt wearing, bag-casually-flung-over-shoulder, students who quite clearly thought I was retarded in some way...

Needless to day; I learnt to drive.
